Every year, the Cannes Film Festival brings the hottest stars, on and off the screen, to the gorgeous French Riviera. It’s during this twelve day event that we see international A-listers, models, and musicians walk a multitude of red carpets in the season’s best Haute Couture. Whether they’re wearing pieces from the Spring/Summer runways or designs hot off the press from the latest Resort shows being held, these celebrities are serving us major ensemble envy. Here are some of the best dressed men and women from the festival:
Elle Fanning – Always one to stun on the red carpet, Elle Fanning is a Cannes veteran whose looks get better each year. This particular Gucci dress is from their FW17 collection, and it features crystal leaf embroidery and hand painted silk flowers.
Paul Dano & Jake Gyllenhall – A twosie! Sans ties, these men are the perfect example of how to still look put together at a semi-formal event. Both of these patterns and colors are great for the summer seasons without being too overbearing for work days.
Liu Wen – Model Liu Wen walked the red carpet in a gorgeous beaded Jean Paul Gaultier suit. Rocking loose, wide-leg pants and a boxy draped blazer, Liu Wen looked sleek and sophisticated. The looser look has been seen a lot in tailoring this season, with wide leg pants and drapey silhouettes taking the helm over more fitted styles.
Adrien Brody – This man has mastered the art of subtle accessories. At the AmFAR Gala, the actor went a step above a tie and paired his all black look with a silky evening scarf. He toned down this formal ensemble by keeping the top buttons undone and wearing his hair a bit messy.
Aymeline Valade – We love seeing women rocking the pantsuit on the red carpet! The French actress opted out of wearing a dress, and instead embraced the androgynous look in Saint Laurent. Her gorgeous deep teal suit was tailored to perfection, with cropped trousers and clean, simple lines. The high neck of her all black blouse accentuated her long torso, and the silk bow added a touch of femininity.
Steven Yeun – The director kept it casual by wearing a simple black t-shirt under his navy suit jacket. Pocket squares are a great way to customize and show your true style, and the one he chose is the perfect pop of color and pattern.
Nicole Kidman – Nicole Kidman in this Christian Dior Couture dress is giving us major woodland fairy vibes. The mossy texture and geometric embroidery, featuring raffia and pearls, make this dress a stand alone piece. Rumor has it the custom made dress took couturiers 1,000 hours to make!
Lewis Hamilton – We had to include this more casual ensemble worn by the F1 racer, who knows how to wow in the front row. He paired his Gucci bomber over a monochrome ensemble, tying it all together with brown chelsea boots.
Fan Bingbing – The Chinese actress looked like a dream in this chic skirt suit by Ralph & Russo Couture. The clean lines and expert tailoring make this a classic ensemble, and the black & white graphic print give it a modern flair. Bingbing accessorized by belting her top at the waist and carrying a bright red clutch.
